Admissions Information
OPEN EVENING 2021
Wednesday 10th November
4pm – 5:30pm OR 6pm – 7:30pm

We warmly invite prospective families to view the school and meet staff and pupils. Sessions will start with a presentation in the hall at either 4pm or 6pm, followed by a tour.

Due to COVID-19, we kindly request that parents and caregivers:
- Wear a face mask throughout their visit
- Sanitise on entry
- Take a Lateral Flow Test on the day of the Open Evening 
 
The catchment for Frieth School encompasses many of the beautiful villages in the Hambleden Valley, including Frieth, Hambleden, Fingest, Turville, Turville Heath, Skirmett and Pheasants Hill. We have two formal points of entry, taking 20 new pupils in Reception and a small number of additional pupils in year 3. We may also have spaces available in other year groups. Reception and Year 3

If you are interested in a place for your child starting school for the first time at Frieth C E C school then please contact us to arrange a visit or look out for adverts in the local press about our open afternoons. In order to apply for a place you will need to complete the application process via the Local Authority, Buckinghamshire County Council.   

The Governing Body of the school is responsible for decisions relating to admissions, but works closely with the Local Authority who co-ordinate admissions to all schools in Buckinghamshire.  A copy of our admissions policy is available on this page.

Children born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018 will start school in September 2022.The number of admissions for the academic year commencing 1st September 2022 is 20.  Applications should be made via Buckinghamshire County Council.  The closing date for applications is midnight on January 15th 2022. Please contact the Local Authority regarding any late applications.  Our admissions policy for September 2022 can be found on this page.

Appeals

If you are not successful in being offered a place at Frieth C E C School, you have the right to appeal the decision.  Appeals are run by an independent panel at the Oxford Diocese.  An appeal form should be completed and returned to the school office.  Appeals are usually held 30 school days from receipt of appeal form.  

If your appeal is regarding the allocation of a place for your child to start school for the first time then the appeal process follows a timetable set out by the Diocese.

Consultation
 
All schools are required to consult stakeholders on their admissions arrangements at least once within a seven year period or in the event that there are significant changes to these arrangements. 
 
The Governors of Frieth CE Combined School have made no changes to their arrangements and last consulted with stakeholders regarding the 2018 Admissions Policy. The consultation process closed on 30th November 2016. The policy was agreed and formally determined as the admissions policy 2018 by the full governing body on Monday 30th January 2017.
