Spelling Champions

8th December 2017
Spelling Champions
The children have been very busy all week with the heats for our first ever Spelling Champions Competition. All the children worked extremely hard to learn their spellings and we are proud of every single pupil that participated.

The competition reached the finals stage today, where three children from years 1 to 6 took to the stage for the competition. They were incredibly brave and the competition was fierce. At one point we though we might run out of words to give as they just kept getting them right!

The rest of the school were incredibly supportive and celebrated all our finalists throughout the afternoon with their clapping and cheering.

The winning pupils all received a special trophy and prize, presented to them by our English Governor, Mrs Jill Dean and the runners up all received Headteacher’s awards as well.

Thank you to Mrs Tyzack for organising such a great event and to Mrs Dean for joining us. We are already looking forward to the Spring Term Spelling Champions competition!
