Remembrance 2017

10th November 2017
Today our Year 6 pupils led the school community in our Remembrance Collective Worship. As the closest school day to Remembrance Day, we held our service in the school hall and included a two minute silence.
The year 6 led the service with compassion and dignity and the school were thoughtful and respectful throughout and sang the hymns beautifully. Thank you to the parents who joined us for today's Collective Worship.

In Flanders Field

In Flanders Field the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That marks our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below

We are the dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The Torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep though Poppies grow

In Flanders fields
