Medical Conditions and Medicines

Frieth C E C School follows the latest government guidance issued in December 2015 when supporting pupils with medical needs in school (See below). We understand that no child should have their education disadvantaged because of their medical needs. Therefore, we have trained staff who are able to administer medicines according to our policy. 

Medicines in school must be prescribed by a doctor, be kept in their original packaging, with all the contra-indications information, with the name of the prescribing chemist and the name and dosage clearly visible.

If parents wish their child to have prescribed medication administered in school, they will be required to complete a medicines permission form and a health care plan for their child. These forms are available from the school office or can be downloaded below.
