Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSO's)

Welcome to our Junior Road Safety Officers page.
We have 4 JRSO's  who have the responsibility of promoting safe, environmentally friendly travel and ensuring that people park sensibly near the school. Our Junior Road Safety Officers are from Year 5 or 6. Several children made speeches in front of the whole school and then everyone in the school voted for the person they thought would do a good job. The decision was very difficult as there were so many good speeches.
You will see two of us standing outside the school at the start of every school day. Make sure that you follow our guidance and your parking promise so that you don't get issued with a ticket.

Three of our children had their badge entry sent off for the WOW badges competition. It was a difficult decision for the JRSO's to make when narrowing it down to only three. Well done to everyone who entered.

22.5.18 It is Walk to School Week this week. Some people walked all the way from Lane End. Well done. Fruit and drinks were given on arrival at school and the JRSO's handed out stickers.
27.2.18 Along with Mrs Sparks the JRSO's have decided on the 4 entries that the school will be sending for the national WOW Badge competition. Good luck to the winners from Frieth. We hope to see your design on the badges in the future.
13.10.17 We had a great morning receiving training on our role as JRSO's. We learnt about what fireman have to do when they come across an accident and got to use some of their equipment to help remove a dummy from a car. As well as this we discovered what it is like for drivers of large vehicles and how they have blind spots which make it difficult for them to see people on the side of the road. We came back to school with lots of goodies and ideas about things that we would like to do with the school.

Hello we are the new JRSO's. Our names are Keira, Henry, Josh and Rory. We will be holding many events such as the Perfect Parking Week we ran from the 18th - 22nd September. We would like to thank all of the parents who signed their Parking Promise. Next Friday we will be going on a course to help us learn more about our JRSO role and how to improve what we do.
