James Fox - Paralympic Visit
27th June 2019
Frieth School was delighted to welcome Paralympic Gold Medal Winner James Fox to talk to the pupils. During a truly inspirational assembly, James talked about growing up and choosing rowing to focus his sporting ability. He also told the school about his back injury, which meant he had to reassess everything, reset his goals and start again.
His message to the children was clear: Set your goals for what you want to achieve - nothing is too small! Even if you receive a major set back, dust yourself off, get up and keep on trying! The perseverance and resilience in this message was clearly demonstrated by James' amazing achievements within the Paralympic Rowing Team!
James also asked some pupil and staff volunteers to demonstrate the rowing machines that he uses for training up to 8 hours per day!
The children were totally gripped by his visit and talk and we can't thank him enough for giving up his time to talk to us!
