Harvest service

9th October 2017

This week started with our lovely Harvest service. The pupils, staff and family members came together to celebrate and give thanks for the harvest, for the food that we chare, the clothes that we have and the community that we live in.

The Year 6 pupils led our service, with contributions from each of the classes. The pupils all sang beautifully and the year 6 pupils did a fantastic job of explaining how the ‘One Can Trust’ works, and the fantastic job it does within our wider community.  It was lovely to welcome Jenny and Doyne  North to our service as well. They are our link to the ‘One Can Trust’ and do an amazing job of collecting for this charity.

Our families did not lets us down in their generosity either. The contributions of tinned food, dried pasta, biscuits, toothpaste, toothbrushes and soaps filled the altar and the space in front.   To everyone who has donated and made our harvest service so special, THANK YOU!

Mrs Reid received a lovely letter from Doyne and Jenny North following our Harvest collection for the One Can Trust.
Dear Jo
We took the school’s donations in on Wednesday to the depot in Duke Street.  We had so much from other sources as well that we asked a friend to help us and the school offerings were all on the floor of his estate car, really impressive.  Before we took anything inside the main helper at the Trust came outside to have a look and she and all the others there were really most impressed.  Please give the children and others who helped a big special thank you.
