Year 5 & 6 Capoeira
On Tuesday afternoons, Year 5 and 6 have been learning about Capoeira. This is a form of dance from Brazil. It originates from the slaves brought to south america from Africa who were not allowed to fight and made up the dance moves based on martial arts and fighting movements but with no contact.
The pupils watched the dance and researched the background and basic moves using the BBC schools clips, then tried out some of the moves themselves. You can look at some of the clips following the links below.
